Not only will she point out important historic sites, but introduce you to the Florentine culture, indicating boutiques for shopping, restaurants, and gelaterias (ice cream shops).

The Academy Gallery as we know it today was founded in 1784 and was comprised of the collection first established by the Academy of Arts Design in Florence in 1563 by Cosimo I de’ Medici. However, the piece which many remember the most was only in August 1873 from Piazza della Signoria, the Michelangelo’s David.
The statue with its carved base is 517 cm high and weighs 5560 kilos. The facts are not enough when you visit the white marble giant, David!
A glorious combination of paintings from the XIII to the XVI century, sculptures and plaster casts and over 50 antique musical instruments – many of which were created for the Grand Dukes of Tuscany.
