This tour is a must for wine lovers. We will leave Florence and head towards Siena, driving along the Medieval Via Frangigena built by Charlemagne in order to connect Roma with France
Upon our arrival to Montalcino, we will explore the Castle, where the Sienese was besieged for 4 years before surrendering to the Medici. We will than visit the town that gave birth to the Brunello wine. A short drive through the beautiful hills will take us to the Romanesque Abbey of Sant' Antimo over a thousand years old. This church is currently managed by a small Benedectine congregation, which is known for their Gregorian chanting. We will listen to their prayers before having lunch at a local Trattoria.
During this tour we will visit a winery with a tour and tasting in their cellars.
